Position: Special Education Teacher [80007]

Special Education Teacher – 2025‑2026 School Year

We’re partnering with an exceptional school district in Worcester County, MA, searching for a Special Education Teacher to work with elementary school students during the 2025‑2026 school year. The position focuses on 1st‑ and 2nd‑grade students with significant disabilities, fostering academic, communication, and social‑emotional growth.

    Monday‑Friday, 35 hours per week
  • Grade Levels: 1st & 2nd grade
Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals, integrating academic, social‑emotional, and communication objectives.
  • Implement evidence‑based behavior support strategies outlined in students’ Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Use proactive ABA techniques (e.g., reinforcement, redirection, visual supports) to promote positive learning behaviors and academic engagement.
  • Differentiate lessons and activities to meet the diverse needs of students with severe behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to create consistent learning environments.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions between lessons, activities, and settings, using structured cues and routines to support student success.
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress and behavior to inform instructional planning and BCBA review.
  • Foster a safe, supportive classroom culture that promotes growth, independence, and self‑regulation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Primary/Secondary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  • Professional teaching license with a Special Education endorsement from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
  • Experience supporting students with disabilities in an academic or classroom‑based setting.
