Assistant Professor; Clinical Faculty - Football in Athletic Training

Overview

Springfield College seeks applications for an Assistant Professor of Athletic Training within the Department of Athletic Training. This is a full-time, nine-month, program-track appointment within the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership beginning August 2026. The faculty member will be responsible for providing comprehensive athletic health care for the Springfield College intercollegiate football program while simultaneously providing clinical education, supervision and instruction to athletic training students.

Preference will be given to candidates who can bring diverse perspectives to this growing department and are motivated to help students succeed.

• Provide comprehensive athletic health care for the Springfield College intercollegiate athletic program while simultaneously providing clinical education, supervision, and instruction to athletic training students.
• Teach athletic training lecture and/or laboratory courses.

• Earned degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited institution, and a post-professional master’s or doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in Athletic Training or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a certified athletic trainer, licensed or eligible for licensure in Massachusetts and an NPI number.
• Demonstrated contemporary expertise in one or more of the following areas: urgent and emergent care, primary care, or orthopedics.
• Strong clinical, administrative, and technology skills.

• 5 or more years of experience as a preceptor, CPR/AED instructor certification, and 2 or more years of experience engaging in teaching.
• Experience using The Athletic Trainer System also preferred.
