Learn Well specializes in supporting students who face underlying mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance use, and eating disorders. We partner with treatment facilities and school districts to provide academic and mental wellness services for students and their families at every stage of care. Our services include therapeutic support to schools, academic programs for hospitalized students, and personalized academic tutoring and mental health counseling for students transitioning back to the classroom.
Our mission is to ensure students maintain their academic progress while addressing their mental health needs.
This is a full-time, on-site Float Teacher role based in the Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Area. The Float Teacher will work within various educational environments to provide academic instruction and support to students receiving mental health treatment. Responsibilities include delivering tailored lesson plans, collaborating with treatment teams, monitoring student progress, and fostering a positive, supportive learning atmosphere to help students achieve academic goals while they focus on their mental well-being.
Qualifications- MA State Teaching Certification is required
- Strong teaching and instructional skills with the ability to adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and mental health professionals.
- Experience in behavior management strategies and maintaining a positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Proficiency in keeping accurate records and tracking academic progress.
- Understanding of mental health challenges in educational settings and a compassionate approach to supporting students.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification is highly preferred.
- Experience working in special education or with at-risk youth is a plus.
- Flexibility in working across different classroom settings as needed.
