• Teach the Vocational Technical Education Framework Strands:
  Safety and Health Knowledge, Technical Standards Knowledge and Skills, Embedded Academics, Employability, Management and Entrepreneurship, Technology.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times.
• Plan programs of study that meet students' individual needs, interests, and abilities.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
• Guide the learning process toward district curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Prepare for classes, providing written evidence of preparation upon supervisor request.
• Employ varied instructional techniques and media consistent with location and student capabilities.
• Implement the district’s philosophy of education, instructional goals, and performance expectations.
• Assess student accomplishments regularly; provide progress reports; communicate with parents as required.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
• Diagnose learning challenges regularly, seeking assistance from district specialists as needed.
• Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Follow the school code of conduct for the classroom, developing and enforcing fair behavior rules.
• Plan and supervise assignments for paraprofessionals, writing evaluations as required.
• Maintain an ongoing professional growth program that satisfies district and personal expectations.
• Participate in the teacher evaluation process, fostering mutual agreement on results.
• Attend building and district meetings to promote communication and decision‑making among staff.
• Attend school‑sponsored activities as agreed upon by the building administrator and faculty, per contract.
• Contribute to district and building decisions regarding budget, facilities, curriculum, and well‑being.
• Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of recent full‑time employment directly related to trade shop and state trade/union license.
• Passing score of at least 70% on written and performance tests for licensure.
• Passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy (VTLST) and Communication and Literacy Skills Test.
• Completion of Criminal Justice (9‑14) license requirements from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
