Position: Visual and Performing Arts Enrichment Teacher (SY26-27, High School)

Role

As a Visual and Performing Arts Teacher at Veritas Preparatory Charter School, you will have the unique opportunity to engage high school students in both visual and performing arts. Your role will involve creating a curriculum that inspires creativity, critical thinking, and an appreciation for the arts. You will plan and deliver high-quality instruction while collaborating with a dedicated team of educators to enrich students' learning experiences and prepare them for further education and life beyond high school.

Responsibilities
  • Teach different electives, covering disciplines such as theater, music, dance, and visual arts.
  • Design and implement an engaging arts curriculum that uses various visual and performing art techniques.
  • Organize school-wide student performances and displays of student work to build community across students, staff, and families.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives that promote student engagement and success.
  • Serve as an advisor for one crew and facilitate daily crew blocks.
  • Utilize your expertise in the arts to deliver effective lessons that meet diverse learning needs.
  • Incorporate elements of college and career readiness into the art curriculum, fostering skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving.
  • Communicate proactively with students and families to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Maintain an inclusive environment that respects and promotes diversity in the arts.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and collaboration with fellow educators.
  • Assess student performance regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Encourage collaboration and promote teamwork in group projects and performances.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrates an unwavering belief that all students can meet and exceed grade‑level academic standards.
  • Exhibits a commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practice as an educator.
  • Builds and sustains positive, collaborative, and effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively in both oral and written contexts.
  • Maintains consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • One to three years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Massachusetts DESE Elementary Licensure Preferred, or eligibility to achieve Highly Qualified status within one year of employment, demonstrated by:
    • a passing score on the Communications and Literacy Skills (Reading and Writing) MTEL.
    • a passing score on the Theatre or Visual Arts MTEL (or equivalent).
    • hold a Massachusetts teaching license in Theatre or Visual Arts.
  • Authorized to work in the United States, with valid work authorization in place by the first day of employment.
Benefits
  • Salary Range for this position is $58,000 - $100,000 exclusive of fringe benefits. The final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
