Description

High School Math teacher. Teaching duties will include Algebra 1, Honors Algebra 1, and possibly Practical Math. Candidates with Computer Science certification may also be asked to teach entry level computer classes.

Job Summary

Possess knowledge of the subjects taught and understands which concepts and skills are central to the discipline.

Develop lessons that incorporate other subjects and incorporate skills that are part of those subjects.

Demonstrate knowledge of not only the subject content, but also knowledge of the students who are learning the appropriate content, including child development, learning processes, student skills, knowledge, language proficiency, and interests and special needs.

Responsible for directing instructional outcomes that reflect important learning so that all students can demonstrate their understanding of the content. Learning outcomes should provide clarity, balance, and be suitable for diverse students.

Recognize the importance of resource selection and choose resources that align directly with learning outcomes and will be most useful to the students.

Qualifications

Teaching license for the particular position as required by the State.
Familiarity with computer use, including electronic mail, the Internet, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets (Microsoft Office).
Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff in an acceptable and courteous manner.

Working Conditions
