Job Description

Instruct HVAC hands‑on labs for Energy Systems lab 1 and 2. The hired instructor is expected to have experience in: (1) HVAC electrical wiring for burners and controls, (2) pipe processing skills such as brazing, soldering, cutting, (3) taking measurement, (4) performing complete combustion tests, and (5) carrying out preventive maintenance on oil and gas burners.

The instructor is expected to conserve safety during the lab and demonstrate understanding of the technicalities involved in oil and gas burners functions and controls.

Requirements
  • Certificate of Completion or A.S. degree in Energy Systems, HVAC, or something related
  • Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills to support interactions with diverse academic and non‑academic audiences
  • A minimum of two years work experience
  • Good understanding of educational learning theory, as well as tutoring theory and practice.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • A commitment to working in a culturally diverse, urban community college.
