Position: Science Teacher (SY26-27, Middle School)

What You'll Do

At Veritas Prep, Middle School Science Teachers play a critical role in ensuring all students develop strong scientific thinking and academic confidence needed to thrive in high school, college, and beyond. As a Science Teacher, you will teach two classes of approximately 27 students, sharing responsibility for both academic achievement and a strong, positive classroom culture with teachers in other subject areas.

In

this role, you will:
  • Implement school-wide routines and systems that create consistency, maximize learning time, and support a focused, orderly environment
  • Deliver high quality instructional materials in science (Open Sci Ed ) and enable students to develop strong scientific thinking skills
  • Collaborate closely with your science team to internalize curriculum, strengthen instructional materials in response to student data, and align on best practices
  • Use student data to drive instructional decisions, provide targeted support/interventions, and accelerate growth during class, daily intervention block, and daily tutoring
  • Teach a daily seminar block focused on college and career readiness, including goal‑setting, self‑advocacy, collaboration, and responsible decision‑making
  • Reinforce social‑emotional skills by intentionally embedding them into classroom instruction, routines, and daily interactions with students
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and actively communicate and partner with families to support student success
  • Center inclusive, culturally responsive practices that affirm students' identities and promote belonging and high expectations for all
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and school leaders to problem‑solve, support students, and contribute to a strong team culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your school principal and/or manager

What You Need (Qualifications)
  • Demonstrates an unwavering belief that all students can meet and exceed grade‑level academic standards
  • Exhibits a commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practice as an educator
  • Builds and sustains positive, collaborative, and effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Communicates clearly and effectively in both oral and written contexts
  • Maintains consistent, reliable and punctual attendance
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • One to three years of teaching experience preferred
  • Massachusetts DESE Elementary Licensure Preferred, or eligibility to achieve Highly Qualified status within one year of employment, demonstrated by: a) passing score on Communications and Literacy (Reading and Writing) MTEL, b) passing score on General Science or Middle School Science MTEL or equivalent, or c) SEI endorsement
  • Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by the first day of employment
Benefits
  • Salary Range for this position is $58,000 – $100,000, exclusive of fringe benefits
    • If hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience
    • In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer
    • Keep in mind, the above range is the full base salary range for this position. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth
