Library Information Student Assistant – Work Study
This is a summer position and then possible a fall and spring position. Work Study is required for fall and spring semesters and summer. Available work hours are dependent on the needs of the library. Holidays may be required, but you will be notified in advance. You are hired semester to semester.
Position DetailsTitle: Library Information Student Assistant – Work Study
Location: Springfield Campus
Department: Library
Hours: 15–20 hours per week during the summer. Fall and spring schedules will be subject to change based on student availability.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
- Welcome a diverse community of users and connect them to library services and resources.
- Staff the main information desk.
- Lend library materials.
- Shelve materials.
- Utilize the library’s online catalog.
- Assist with special projects.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Flexibility and dependability.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Meet all University requirements to work on campus.
- Legal Federal Work Study Recipient status.

Additional QualificationsAll students chosen will receive on‑the‑job training, ideally starting during intersession or sooner.
