ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION contingent on enrollment, funding, and programming.

Elementary LINKS Paraprofessionals for Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program (contingent on enrollment, funding, and programming)

Reports to: Building Principal or designee.

Funding: General – Special Education

Salary: Per Contract

Teachers are required to attend mandatory training with Summer Coordinator. Program Coordinator staff meetings will be scheduled by the Coordinator. The coordinator is responsible for training Summer School Staff on selected curriculum and summer expectations.

Duties
  • Responsible to Site Coordinator, Special Education Teacher, Special Education Supervisor, and Principal
  • Provide instructional assistance, under the direction of the teacher, to a small group or individual student(s).
  • Provide clerical services such as preparing, duplicating, organizing, and distributing materials to children and other miscellaneous clerical tasks.
  • Assist in feeding during lunch and snack periods when needed.
  • Feed, diaper, and assist with personal hygiene as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Presently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Springfield Public Schools.
  • Has not received a layoff notice.
  • Preference will be given to paraprofessionals presently working in the same program during the academic year.
  • Preference will be given to paraprofessionals who have worked in the extended year program to facilitate continuity of instruction and social/emotional development.
  • Availability required for entire program work schedule.
  • Must have a secured position for the  school year.
