Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of the Summer Coordinator, Assistant Principal of Special Education, and Chief of Student Support and Services.
- Maintain student attendance records and follow up on absenteeism.
- Provide timely information to families and students.
- Prevent regression through instruction in academic, gross motor, and social skills as outlined in students’ IEPs.
- Teach assigned classes as scheduled and in designated locations.
- Assume responsibility for the office and clerical work associated with the Extended Year Program.
- Communicate student attendance and skill retention during the program to the students’ 2024‑2025 schools.
- Provide personal care support such as feeding, diapering, and hygiene assistance as needed.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Coordinator or Assistant Principal.
- Preference for teachers currently working in Low Incidence Programs.
- Must possess a DESE license (Moderate Disabilities Pre‑K‑8 or 5‑12) or qualify for a licensure waiver.
- Ability to modify curriculum and accommodate students as needed.
- Experience implementing students’ IEPs to meet individual needs.
- Ability to manage classroom staff and collaborate with other professionals.
- Professional communication skills.
- Experience working with a diverse student population and staff pool.
$50 per hour for teachers and coordinators.
