Salary: $50.00 per hour for working with students; $35.00 per hour prep time.

Duties
  • Reports to the building Principal or Designee and collaborates to advance instructional priorities.
  • Analyzes teacher and student attendance data to identify trends and implement strategies that support student engagement and academic success.
  • Facilitates clear and proactive communication with families and students to support instructional goals.
  • Leads the administration and analysis of pre‑ and post‑tests to inform instructional planning and student progress monitoring.
  • Designs and implements instructional strategies that enhance student learning and skill development during extended instructional time.
  • Ensures instructional time is maximized by maintaining a structured, student‑centered learning environment in designated locations.
  • Develops and refines a program of study that aligns with students’ individual needs, interests, and abilities, ensuring access to high‑quality instruction.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on lesson plans to ensure alignment with curriculum standards and instructional best practices.
  • Assesses and reports student progress to the Building Principal, using data to guide instructional improvements.
  • Supports the educators in fostering a positive classroom culture that reinforces student engagement and achievement.
  • Graduates teachers are required to attend mandatory training with the Summer Coordinator.
  • Program Coordinator holds staff meetings; the coordinator is responsible for training Summer School staff on selected curriculum and expectations.
Qualifications
  • Presently employed as a teacher in Springfield Public Schools.
  • Experience in communicating effectively with parents.
  • Knowledge of the goals and requirements of the Common Core and State Curriculum Frameworks and Assessments.
  • Experience working in collaboration with administrators and teachers.
  • Extraordinary organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability required for entire program work schedule.
  • Secured position for school year 2026‑2027.
  • Must hold a valid and current Department of Elementary and Secondary Education educator license.
  • Bachelor’s degree with appropriate license or master’s degree with appropriate content area.
