Title: Paraprofessional:
Middle Paraprofessionals and CNAs for Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program (contingent on enrollment, funding, and programming)
Salary: According to contract ($22.03 to $26.55 per hour)
Application Period: April 13, 2026 to May 29, 2026
Reports To: Building Principal or designee
Funding: General – Special Education
Work Schedule: July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026, 8:00am-1:45pm (Program Schedule) and 7:30am-2:00pm (Work Schedule)
Training: Mandatory training with Summer Coordinator;
Program Coordinator Staff Meeting to be scheduled.
- Report to Site Coordinator, Special Education Teacher, Special Education Supervisor, and Principal
- Provide instructional assistance under the direction of the teacher to a small group or individual students
- Perform clerical services: preparing, duplicating, organizing, and distributing materials; other miscellaneous clerical tasks
- Assist in feeding during lunch and snack periods when needed
- Feed, diaper, and assist with personal hygiene as required
- Perform additional duties assigned by Site Coordinator of the summer program
- Presently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in Springfield Public Schools
- Has not received a layoff notice
- Precedence given to paraprofessionals working in the same program during the academic year
- Precedence given to those who have worked in the extended year program to facilitate continuity
- Availability for entire program work schedule
- Must hold a secured position for the school year
