JOB GOAL:
To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, responsible, and productive citizens.

• Meet and instruct assigned classes as designated.
• Plan a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity.
• Guide learning toward achievement of district curriculum goals; establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Prepare for classes assigned and provide written evidence of preparation when requested.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with location limitations and student capabilities.
• Implement district philosophy of education, instructional goals, and performance expectations.
• Assess student accomplishments regularly; provide progress reports as required; communicate with parents as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
• Diagnose learning challenges regularly and seek assistance from district specialists when needed.
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Follow the school code of conduct; develop and enforce classroom behavior rules fairly.
• Plan and supervise assignments for paraprofessionals; provide written evaluations as required.
• Engage in professional growth that satisfies district and personal development expectations.
• Participate in the teacher evaluation process and contribute to agreements on evaluation results.
• Attend building and district meetings to promote communication and decision making.
• Participate in school-sponsored activities per contract.
• Contribute to district decisions on budget, facilities, curriculum, and personal well‑being.
• Maintain and improve professional competence.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of recent full‑time employment experience directly related to trade shop and state trade/union license.
• Passing score of at least 70% on the written and performance tests for Licensure.
• Passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy (VTLST) and the Communication and Literacy Skills Test (Programming & Web Development 9-12) as required by Massachusetts Department of Education.

Salary: $54,547 to $88,135, BU Salary Schedule
