OverviewTewksbury Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities, ensuring they have access to a high-quality education that meets their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in various academic subjects.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Use data to assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet student needs.
- municate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and collaborate with them to support student learning.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of IEP goals and objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
- Massachusetts state licensure as a Special Education Teacher.
- Certification from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for Special Education Teachers.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Massachusetts State License: Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice as a Special Education Teacher in Massachusetts.
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Certification: Certification for Special Education Teachers, meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
