Position Summary

The Site Coordinator is responsible for providing the best possible environment for the children assigned to their classroom. The role works collaboratively with the Program Director to teach, plan the program, and manage the daily operations of the Center, including training and leadership of staff. The Site Coordinator strives for continual improvement, maintains staff and volunteer supervision, and reports to the School–Aged / Summer Program Director.

Education & Experience
  • Option 1:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology, or related fields plus 6 months of experience with school‑age children.
  • Option 2:
    Bachelor’s Degree in any field or an Associate’s Degree in any field of study with 9 months of experience working with school‑age children.
  • Option 3:
    High School diploma or GED with 12 months of experience working with school‑age children.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be 20 years of age or older.
  • Must enjoy working with children.
  • Strong knowledge of child development.
  • Strong understanding of, and commitment to, best practices in early childhood education.
  • Excellent classroom management, active listening, written and verbal communication, and ability to coach, mentor, and inspire staff.
  • Detail‑oriented with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and possess strong collaborative leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations (preferred) and familiarity with CACFP food program billing and voucher system billing and attendance (preferred).
  • Solid computer skills.
  • Documentation of a medical exam within 1 year of employment and a physician statement that the applicant is physically capable of performing the job.
  • Must provide evidence of mandatory vaccinations, including MMR and immunity to communicable diseases such as TB.
  • Background checks required.

  • Maintain an appropriate and safe environment for children.
  • Consistently implement all licensing requirements, including supervision ratios.
  • Follow all Playful Minds policies & procedures.
  • Attend work according to the established schedule.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
  • All staff are mandated reporters.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all children.
Leadership & Administration
  • Promote the mission, values, and philosophy of Playful Minds.
  • Provide empathetic leadership and management aligned with the PMLC vision.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations in keeping with Playful Minds policies and procedures.
  • Notify the School–Aged / Summer Program Director of emergency assistance needs.
  • Determine materials needed for curriculum implementation and submit purchase requests to the Program Director.
  • Maintain licensing standards and staff‑to‑child ratios with support from the Program Director.
  • Manage staff scheduling based on supervisory requirements.
  • Guide and oversee educators, ensuring standards are met.
  • Observe classrooms regularly and provide guidance as needed.
  • Mentor staff with clear, supportive feedback.
  • Conduct staff evaluations in collaboration with the Program Director and maintain evaluation documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to identify beneficial professional development topics.
Curriculum
  • Create high‑quality, developmentally appropriate, engaging lesson plans aligned with best practices and PMLC curriculum guidelines.
  • Oversee implementation of curriculum to ensure best practices and alignment with regulations.
