Special Education Teacher - Triton Learning Center

Triton High School is searching for a dynamic Special Education teacher to help lead our Triton Learning Center (TLC). The TLC program works to support students with more significant cognitive and developmental disabilities. We are seeking an educator who is passionate about having our TLC students participate in diverse learning opportunities. We believe in an approach that fosters both academic and social development.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be adept at providing real-world experiences to help support student learning.

Triton is seeking an educator with a deep understanding of the strategies needed to fully support students with more significant disabilities. It is incredibly important that the teacher be able to modify the curriculum to meet students' diverse needs, as well as the ability to track behavioral and academic data. The successful candidate will also be able to effectively communicate with students and families about progress or needs.

It is additionally important that the candidate collaborate effectively with other teachers to share about the learning profiles of each student to help TLC students find success in a wide variety of settings.

The successful candidate needs to be able to manage a team of Instructional Assistants. Many of the students in TLC have individualized or shared support and the teacher oversees how each instructional assistant works with his or her student(s).
