Program Specialist, Workforce Development
Category:

- Supports student enrollment, success, and transition.
- Connects with prospective students to determine eligibility, complete pre‑assessment, assess readiness, identify academic support needed, and ensure completion of necessary documentation including health compliance prior to program start.
- Collaborates with the Authorized Testing Center to register students for pre‑assessments and certification exams.
- Partners with instructors to support participants with job readiness, resume and cover letter preparation, interviewing techniques, mock interviews, job search information, job fairs, and other career‑related activities.
- Conducts course opening and closing procedures.
- Leads whole‑group workshops and holds one‑to‑one meetings with students to address barriers to education and employment.
- Coordinates students' pre‑practicum, clinical, or internship experiences and wrap‑around services.
- Works with employer partners to support placement and track students.
- Follows up with participants to ensure registration for required certification exams.
- Conducts exit interviews and follow‑up calls to track post‑secondary education and employment, providing support as needed.
- Provides program information, answers questions in person, virtually, or by phone, follows up with calls, and responds to emails.
- Collects, tracks, and reports data on student progress and program/grant/budget outcomes.
- Supports creation of processes and implementation of programs, and tracking of program participants.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Critical and creative thinking to solve problems and improve programming, with timely task management.
- Proficiency in modern office practices and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Strong commitment to anti‑racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and removing barriers to education.
- Commitment to the mission and values of STCC.
- Completion of Information Awareness Security Training within thirty days of orientation and annually thereafter.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
- 1–3 years experience in education and coordination.
Salary: $33 per hour, up to 18.5 hours per week. Evening and weekends. Benefits:
None. Part‑time position. Grant funded. No union.
