Special Education Teacher
Special Education Teacher for a 36-week contract in Springfield, Massachusetts. Provide instruction and support for students with moderate and severe needs in grades 1-8. Earn up to $55 per hour based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Create and implement special education instruction for students with moderate and/or severe needs.
- Adapt classroom instruction for students in grades 1–8, managing learning goals and supports based on individual needs.
- Collaborate with school teams to develop and maintain educational programming, including ABA-informed approaches.
- Provide behavior-informed strategies and supports for students across a range of behaviors.
- Maintain required documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders (students, families, and school staff).
- Master's degree (MA) in Special Education or related field; or equivalent.
- Valid Special Education teaching license for Moderate/Severe populations.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Special Education Teacher supporting moderate and severe students in grades 1–8.
- Ability to work days and support a 37.5-hour per week schedule.
- Willingness to commute up to 40 minutes (Belchertown, MA 01007 area).
- Demonstrated professionalism and willingness to collaborate to support student success.
- Participation in prescreen questions including professional background, motivation for change, current staffing experience, and workload concerns.
- Must be able to work with 1st–8th grade and any related classroom settings.
Skills:
- School-based experience preferred.
