Adjunct Instructor, Sociology
Teaches a standard range of courses expected in the first two years of a degree program in the field.
Examples of duties (including but not limited to):
- Conducts classes.
- Prepares for instruction.
- Assesses student performance.
- Provides student assistance by appointment.
- Engages in professional development and required trainings.
- Attends a limited number of faculty meetings.
Requirements:
- Master's degree within the field or 18 credits of graduate level work specific to the field.
- College teaching experience, high school teaching experience, or adult education experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Successful community college teaching experience.
- Commitment to fostering inclusiveness, equity and diversity within the academic setting.
- Teaching experience with Early College students or at the High School level.
- Commitment to the mission of the community college.
- Experience building and facilitating asynchronous or hybrid courses using a standard learning management system.
