Baystate Academy Charter Public School (BACPS) seeks dynamic, talented, and dedicated teachers in English to join the BACPS team. Teachers will serve as the primary teacher in an ELA crew and collaborate with grade‑level teams to implement an inquiry‑based, standards‑based curriculum. They will serve as Crew Leaders, participate in continuous assessment, provide targeted feedback, conduct student‑led conferences, and facilitate end‑of‑unit exhibitions.

Teachers will collaborate with the school principal, dean of students, and curriculum coach to design project‑based expeditions, family workshops, and events, and will be responsible for implementing and integrating new policies that support the school’s mission and instructional objectives.

• Teach the subject area according to curriculum guidelines specified by the charter school
• Develop and refine a high‑level, challenging curriculum in the subject area
• Maintain ongoing curriculum evaluation and development to meet student needs
• Collaborate with faculty to deliver appropriate instructional approaches and best practices, supporting diverse learning styles and needs
• Implement curriculum and instruction in alignment with BACPS mission, fostering independent thinking, creative problem solving, and abstract reasoning
• Facilitate and mediate positive and restorative resolution of problems involving students and/or parents
• Assess student performance continuously and objectively
• Develop a cooperative partnership with parents and students based on mutual respect and objectivity
• Conduct parent/student/teacher conferences in accordance with BACPS guidelines
• Participate in all professional development activities
• Participate in all staff meetings and school governance
• Demonstrate awareness of school/community needs and initiate activities to address them
• Perform other projects and duties as directed by the principal

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an applicable field of study or education from an accredited college or university
• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process and expertise in the specific content area
• Classroom teaching experience
• Demonstrated experience working with challenge groups in a standards‑based environment, including use of assessments to place students, flexible pacing, instruction, grouping, acceleration, enrichment, and independent study
• Demonstrated success in solving challenging problems through a positive, collaborative approach
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students, parents, administrators, colleagues, community, and other school staff
• Strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement
