Position Overview

Springfield College seeks applications for a Clinical Athletic Trainer with primary responsibilities in Football who will hold the rank of Assistant Professor of Athletic Training within the Department of Athletic Training. This is a full‑time, nine‑month, program‑track appointment within the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership beginning August 2026. The faculty member is expected to bring field expertise, demonstrate excellence in clinical teaching, and be committed to service and professional activities.

The role includes providing comprehensive athletic health care for the intercollegiate football program while simultaneously offering clinical education, supervision, and instruction to athletic training students.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive athletic health care for the Springfield College intercollegiate football program while simultaneously providing clinical education, supervision, and instruction to athletic training students. Additional responsibilities include teaching in athletic training lecture and/or laboratory courses.

Compensation

Actual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to degrees attained, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Comprehensive compensation details, including any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.

Required Qualifications
  • Earned degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited institution, as well as a post‑professional master’s or doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in Athletic Training or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a certified athletic trainer, licensed or eligible for licensure in Massachusetts and an NPI number.
  • Demonstrated contemporary expertise in one or more of the following areas: urgent and emergent care, primary care, rehabilitation or orthopedics.
  • Strong clinical, administrative, and technology skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience as a preceptor, CPR/AED instructor certification, and 2 or more years of experience engaging in teaching.
  • Experience using EMR.
