Adjunct Instructor, History
Teaches a standard range of courses expected in the first two years of a degree program in the field. Examples of duties include conducting on campus day, evening and online classes, preparing for instruction, assessing student performance, providing student assistance by appointment, engaging in professional development and required trainings, and attending a limited number of faculty meetings.
Requirements include a master's degree in history or a related field and 18 credits of graduate level work specific to history. College teaching experience, high school teaching experience, or adult education experience is also required.
Preferred qualifications include successful community college teaching experience, commitment to fostering inclusiveness, equity and diversity within the academic setting, teaching experience with early college students or at the high school level, commitment to the mission of the community college, and experience building and facilitating asynchronous or hybrid courses using a standard learning management system.
Salary is based on DCE adjunct contract rates with no benefits. Closing date is open until filled.
