Special Education Paraprofessional (SPED Para Educator) – Rebecca Johnson Elementary School, Springfield, Massachusetts

Oversee the implementation of rigorous academic and behavior intervention systems for a small case load of students. Work closely with special education teachers, students, and families to improve academic outcomes and behavioral skills.

• Work alongside an experienced special educator to support a small case load of students, driving academic achievement for students with moderate to severe needs.
• Implement effective, rigorous academic and behavior intervention systems for the case load.
• Provide consistent high academic and behavioral expectations.
• Support student mastery of state, city, and school academic and behavioral standards.
• Lead daily individual and small group tutoring sessions.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

• High‑school diploma or GED.
• 60 credit hours of college coursework or an associate’s degree, or a passing score on one of the following:

  • Work Keys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants (http://)
• Current authorization to work in the United States – must have authorization by first day of employment.

$22.03 to $26.55 per hour (Basic Unduplicated Salary Schedule)

Full Time – School Year
