Assistant Principal – Springfield German Gerena Community School (2026‑2027)
Springfield Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal to lead the Springfield German Gerena Community School for the school year. The role involves building on the district’s growth, supporting equity, and improving student outcomes in a diverse environment of over 24,000 students.
Responsibilities- Lead a high‑performing school where student growth is accelerating.
- Coach and mentor educators to advance instructional practices and use data‑driven decisions.
- Partner with families and community to extend impact beyond the classroom.
- Model a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high expectations.
- Manage school resources, staff recruitment, and professional development.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and student‑centered environment.
- Communicate openly, respectfully, and consistently with all stakeholders.
- Master’s degree (required).
- Massachusetts Assistant Principal/Principal licensure or eligibility.
- At least five years of successful teaching experience.
- Proven leadership experience with measurable student achievement gains.
- Experience working with diverse, multilingual student populations.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and data‑driven practices.
