Job DescriptionTITLE: Paraprofessional: 1 to 1 Paraprofessionals for Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program (contingent on enrollment, funding, and programming)
Salary: According to Paraprofessional Contract – Hourly Rate

- Orientation: Date and site TBD, 8:00 am – 1:15 pm

July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026, 8:00 am – 1:45 pm - Work Schedule: July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026, 7:30 am – 2:00 pm
- Report to the LI Program Coordinator, Special Education Teacher, and Special Education Supervisor.
- Provide instructional assistance and social‑emotional support to a small group or individual student(s) under the direction of the teacher.
- Perform clerical services such as preparing, duplicating, organizing, and distributing materials, and other miscellaneous tasks.
- Support implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans and classroom routines and procedures as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Currently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Springfield Public Schools.
- Has not received a layoff notice.
- Preference given to paraprofessionals presently working in the same program during the academic year.
- Preference given to 1:1 paraprofessionals who currently work with a specific student in an extended year program.
- Availability required for entire program work schedule.
- Secured position for the school year 2026‑2027.
