Our mission is to provide high‑expectation education for kindergarten through fifth grade, fostering critical thinking, clear communication, and a strong ethical foundation to prepare students for college, career, and life. The school operates as a free, public charter school serving 360 students in a structured academic environment that emphasizes positive character development and civic participation.

The Elementary Teacher holds primary responsibility and ownership for instructional planning and execution of the curriculum. Teachers manage classroom instruction, plan and refine core curricular resources, and deliver dynamic, engaging lessons aligned to MLKCSE guidance, Common Core State Standards, and Massachusetts Frameworks. All grades are self‑contained and responsible for core subjects and small‑group intervention. The school uses co‑teaching in Kindergarten and First Grade, and assignment of instructional paraprofessionals in grades 2‑5.

Special Educators provide push‑in support during core blocks and pull‑out instruction during intervention times.

• Submit daily attendance records.
• Manage student breakfast in the classroom.
• Thoughtfully plan, refine, and supplement core curricular resources.
• Deliver dynamic and creative instruction that is engaging, high‑quality, and aligned with state standards.
• Maintain timely grading of students.
• Collaborate with Special Educators, ESL Educators, and Instructional Leaders to provide targeted interventions.
• Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade‑level activities, meetings, professional development, and school‑wide functions.
• Administer a variety of assessments, record and submit data, address findings, and integrate data to refine instruction.
• Participate in regular interim data meetings with grade‑level team teachers and instructional leadership.
• Identify students not meeting benchmarks and plan appropriate interventions, including tiered small‑group or one‑on‑one support.
• Uphold school values, key systems, and accountability systems for academics and character.
• Provide consistent high academic and behavioral expectations.
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
• Consistently meet professionalism expectations and fulfill responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
• Report to the Academic Director or Executive Director.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
• Preliminary Massachusetts teaching certification or working toward earning full Massachusetts teaching certification.
• SEI or RETELL endorsement.

• At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience, particularly in an urban setting.
• Bilingual with Spanish proficiency encouraged.

Pay Range: $50,000 – $90,000 USD
