Position: School Director, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

Springfield, MA • $200,000 annual salary
• Day‑one health benefits

Alpha is opening a new campus in the city and requires a leader who knows the local educational landscape. You will oversee 15+ Guides who motivate and coach students while Alpha's EdTech platform delivers all instruction. This is a leadership role, not a teaching position. Your objective is to ensure students love learning, progress at double the traditional pace, and develop essential life skills.

What

You Will Be Doing
  • Launch Alpha's Springfield, MA campus: ensure delivery of the three core promises to 100+ students from opening day with consistent operational excellence.
  • Facilitate live life‑skills workshops for K‑8 students: lead one‑hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and feedback skills; execute Alpha's established playbook to help students master competencies often overlooked by traditional schools.
  • Drive every student toward 100 % goal achievement: develop personalized motivational strategies; apply data‑informed methods to address resistance and sustain engagement with the Alpha platform; success is defined by every student reaching their objectives.
  • Develop Guides through coaching and uphold Alpha's performance standards: use data to pinpoint gaps, provide clear feedback, monitor progress, and make difficult personnel decisions when standards are not met.
  • Execute data‑informed campus leadership: review metrics spanning staff performance, operations, parent engagement, and school culture; identify challenges, perform root‑cause analysis, engage stakeholders, implement interventions, and refine based on outcomes.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Teaching or tutoring students. Alpha's self‑directed EdTech platform drives learning, not traditional lectures from adults.
  • Creating lesson plans or curriculum. Alpha provides a ready‑made playbook; your focus is leadership and execution.
  • Overseeing budgets or recruiting staff. Finance and hiring are managed centrally; you concentrate exclusively on campus performance and culture.
  • Serving as the subject‑matter expert. This role is 80 % leadership and engagement, 20 % education; you inspire while the platform teaches.
