Position Details

Springfield Public Schools – Benjamin Swan Elementary. Summer school paraprofessional for MLL Elementary. Salary per Paraprofessional Contract. Funding Source:
Title III.

Work schedule:

8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.

• Report to the building principal.
• Assist teachers in all classroom activities.
• Assist with thematic planning approach.
• Participate in planning and implementation program for ESL, including WIDA standards for English language development.
• Assist in selecting, developing, and distributing teacher materials for the program.
• Breakfast and Lunch duty.
• Afternoon bus duty.

• High‑school diploma or GED.
• Sixty (60) credit hours of college coursework or an Associate’s degree, or a passing score on one of the following formalized assessments:

  • Work Keys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants (http://)
• Current authorization to work in the United States; must have such authorization by first day of employment.
• Passing scores on Work Keys Exams:
  • Reading: 5
  • Math: 4
  • Writing: 3
