The Biology department at Salem State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position in biomedical sciences to begin September 2027. Our preferred areas of expertise are anatomy and physiology, pathology, immunology, pharmacology, and endocrinology. Teaching responsibilities may also include introductory biology courses for non-majors (e.g., Human and Social Biology, Anatomy and Physiology) and/or upper-level electives currently in our catalog (e.g., Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, General Pathology, Endocrinology, Immunology) or developed by the successful candidate.
We seek a colleague interested in taking an active role in the Pre-Health Advising Committee and providing guidance to students pursuing careers in medical sciences. The ideal candidate will have the ability to engage students in research opportunities and/or field experiences.
The biology department educates future scientists in general biology with the options to focus on Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Marine and Aquaculture, and Environmental Biology. In addition, the department teaches scientific reasoning courses for the General Education program and lab sciences support courses for allied health and sports and movement sciences departments.

Dutiesand Responsibilities
Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, scholarship and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
Required QualificationsThis is an onsite position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
