Position: Anticipated Adaptive Physical Education Teacher/Exceptional Learner Academy

Adapted Physical Education Specialist

Identification of children who require Adapted Physical Education in the Springfield Public Schools.

Screening, assessment and development of assessment reports and Individualized Educational Plans for children qualifying for adapted physical education services.

Provide direct and consultation adapted physical education services to students who have Individual Education Plans which require these services.

Timely completion of all paperwork, including but not limited to documentation required for IEPs, team meetings, progress reports, billing/logging, and departmental paperwork.

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Education. DESE license Adapted Physical Education preferred; DESE license in Physical Education.

A minimum of five years of teaching experience.

Experience working with children with special needs preferred.

Experience in assessment and development of high quality Individualized Educational Plans preferred. Demonstrated ability to meet timelines. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

Bilingual skills preferred.
