Job Title

Job duties include:

  • Meeting and instructing assigned classes in designated locations and times.
  • Planning a program of study that meets individual student needs and interests.
  • Creating a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Guiding the learning process toward achieving district curriculum goals.
  • Preparing for classes and providing written evidence of preparation upon request.
  • Using various instructional techniques and media.
  • Implementing the district's philosophy of education.
  • Assessing student accomplishments and communicating with parents.
  • Maintaining accurate records as required by law and district policy.
  • Diagnosing learning challenges and seeking assistance from district specialists.
  • Taking precautions to protect students and school property.
  • Following the school's code of conduct and developing classroom behavior rules.
  • Planning and supervising paraprofessional assignments.
  • Engaging in professional growth and teacher evaluation process.
  • Attending building and district meetings.
  • Participating in school-sponsored activities.
  • Contributing to district decisions regarding budget, facilities, curriculum, and well-being.
  • Maintaining and improving professional competence.
  • Qualifications include:

    • Highly qualified with required competency in the content area.
    • Appropriate content/program area educator license and grade level licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
    • Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.
