Preschool Aide

Mount Alvernia Academy, a Franciscan Catholic School (Coed Preschool – Sixth Grade) is seeking a creative and enthusiastic full-time Preschool Aide for the  academic year. Experience working with young children and a solid knowledge of early childhood development is required.

• Monitor students in a variety of settings (e.g., classroom, playground, etc.) to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
• Help to maintain classroom and equipment to provide a safe and clean learning environment.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials for daily learning activities.
• Engage students in planned small group activities to support development and learning objectives.
• Support a coordinated behavior management system in favor of excellent behavior management, and practice current social and emotional support techniques on a daily basis

While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and/or crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening. The teacher is occasionally required to sit, walk, and may be required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
