- Provide on-campus and virtual support to college students with disabilities as they adjust to academics and campus living
- Develop semester action plans addressing students' transition-to-college goals
- Provide one-to-one coaching in higher education and independent living
- Support executive functioning skills including time management, organization, and scheduling
- Identify barriers and problem-solve with students and college staff
- Create a supportive relationship between the college and student
- Advocate for students by identifying needs and explaining them to college staff
- Maintain documentation for monitoring and evaluating client progress
- Communicate with referring agencies and the program manager through monthly notes and weekly check-ins
- Assist students with Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, and other online learning platforms
- Help students understand college culture and expectations
- Assist with assistive technology when applicable
- Discuss potential referrals for other ESMA programs and services with the program manager
- Provide program improvement ideas
- Attend transition-related conferences and represent Easterseals Transition Services at local and state meetings
- Resolve routine administrative problems
- Interface regularly with students, families, disability professionals, and educators
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required and/or Master's degree in a related field
- Experience with young adults with disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of academic areas and learning situations, including Blackboard, Moodle, and Canvas
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications:
Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams - Working knowledge of Zoom video conferencing
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- TB test and health documentation clearance for work
- COVID-19 vaccine strongly preferred due to campus policies
- Full-time availability Monday-Friday
- Ability to start as early as 8 am and work as late as 5 pm depending on student schedules
- Own daily reliable transportation for commuting between campuses
- Ability to work independently or in groups with minimal supervision
- Ability to organize projects, prioritize workflow, and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately
Demonstrates expertise in providing support to college students with disabilities, including developing action plans, coaching, and advocating for student needs. Proficient in utilizing online learning platforms and assistive technology while maintaining effective communication with students and staff.
