The individual will perform any work in connection with the installation, operation, and maintenance of the underground and aerial cable systems.

The salary range for this position starts at $37.16 (as of 10/01/2025). Rates will increase on October 1st, 2025 and progresses in accordance with the union contract. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.

A high school diploma or the equivalent is required; the ability to successfully pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test (CAST) and the Agility Assessment;
Splicing experience is preferred.

The selected candidate must possess a valid motor vehicle license and be qualified to obtain or maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and must live within 30 minutes of the reporting location for trouble call assignments.

This position will be considered a shift position and the employee may be required to work a four, ten-hour day schedule.

Retention Incumbent qualified employees who elect to accept a position within the Splicer Helper classification will be retained in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. (Three years total in Underground) This position is being simultaneously posted within the Union and Bargaining unit employees under this contract will be given first consideration for this vacancy.
