Application Engineer job at SGS Consulting. Massachusetts.
Job Responsibilities:- Develop control programs for BMS systems using Function Block, scripting, and graphical interfaces.
- Design user-friendly graphical interfaces for BMS systems.
- Perform on-site startup, system checkout, commissioning, and programming.
- Validate and troubleshoot field devices, controllers, and equipment during point-to-point checkout.
- Adhere to established software development and documentation standards.
- Clearly communicate project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Collaborate with project teams and contractors to ensure successful commissioning.
- Create simulation software to test and validate project software.
- Deliver training sessions at customer sites or training centers.
- Develop and execute test scripts to verify BMS system performance.
- Support Managed Services by testing and resolving post-turnover issues.
- Assist in beta testing of new hardware/software to assess suitability for customer needs.
- Provision and manage servers or virtual machines to support project needs.
- Develop documentation for hardware/software installation guides.
- Perform QAQC checks on the PLC and SCADA code before initial delivery to the customer.

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering field.
- At least 4 years’ work experience in Industrial Controls / Automation.
- Familiarity with Modicon PLCs and Eco Struxure Control Expert (formerly Unity Pro).
- Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA and/or AVEVA System Platform.
