Consultant
- Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Assignment is approximately 6 months.

Purpose of the role

• Preforming design and analysis to support research and development of Mechanical Ventilator and Sleep Apnea Devices and physiological monitoring instruments.
• Leads design activities, reviews and reports design’s progress.
• Assignments are broad in nature, requiring appreciable initiative, originality, ingenuity and excellent problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Subject matter expert in electrical/electronic engineering.
• Primary electrical/electronic engineer, responsible for
• control system optimization
• digital signal processing
• pneumatic system optimization
• actuator/sensor selection
• Drive development of FDA-approved respiratory therapy devices from design through regulatory submission and production.
• Knowledge of EMI measurement and mitigation techniques
• Experience with IEC 60601/62304 standards
• Experience working with micro-controller in an embedded system environment
• Familiar with programming languages: C, C , C#, Python
• Experience in development of medical devices in a regulated industry
• Proficiency with major commercial schematic capture and layout tools
• Proficiency with integrated circuit simulation and analysis via SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink or similar tools

Minimum Key Requirements

• Required Experience
• • 10 years industry experience in electrical and electronic engineering, preferably in the medical device industry.
• • Experience leading product development efforts involving electrical and mechanical engineer.
• Altium experience (our ECAD system) is required
• Required General Skills and Characteristics:
• • Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in the area of mechanical and/or electronic design

• • Strong interpersonal skills; strong communicator and listener; self-confident
• Required Academic Credentials:
• • B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or comparable industrial experience
• • Solid foundation in engineering and scientific fundamentals
• • Publications/patents a plus

Hourly Range: $100 - $125
