The role of the Packaging Designer is to create packaging that surprises and delights Amazon customers. The primary responsibility is to develop and support scalable fiber‑based packaging designs that meet or exceed customer expectations while ensuring flawless supply‑chain integration, lowest total cost, and the highest sustainability.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Directly develop prototypes and test new packaging designs using Artios

    CAD and Solid Works.
  • Create visual renderings to communicate design intent to stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed packaging specifications.
  • Produce reports on packaging performance.
  • Participate in or lead meetings to ensure developments meet benchmarks for customer experience, supply chain, and sustainability.
  • Travel to engage with customers, supply chain, labs, and vendors.
A Day in the Life

Aligning Packaging Design within Amazon Robotics enables the development, deployment, and scale of automated solutions across the Amazon Fulfillment Network, especially from Pick to SLAM for the Automated Robotics Sortable (ARS) network. This group works backwards from deep customer insights to deliver solutions that seamlessly integrate into brownfield and greenfield deployments with safety as a top priority.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Design/Innovation, R&D, manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering experience.
  • Experience in AutoCAD 3D and management of engineering design projects.
  • Experience designing complex systems for automation in logistics or manufacturing, or product development in automotive, aerospace, automation equipment, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience running standard package testing protocols (ISTA/ASTM).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering (any domain) or related field.
  • Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision‑making.
  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and high‑speed manufacturing.
  • Experience with design‑in‑safety and process design based on Lean principles.

Location:

USA, MA, Westboro – Salary range: $99,300.00 – $ USD annually.

Salary structure:
The base salary range is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
