Senior MES Engineer

Contract Senior MES Engineer – Cell & Gene Therapy - 12 Month Contract

We’re supporting a leading organisation within the Cell & Gene Therapy sector in the search for an experienced Senior MES Engineer on a contract basis.

This role will focus on the development, optimisation and support of Emerson Syncade MES solutions within a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with manufacturing and digital teams to deliver MES enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure production systems remain compliant and operational.

• Configure, modify and maintain MES recipes using Emerson Syncade.
• Translate manufacturing and business requirements into effective MES solutions.
• Support testing, deployment and validation of MES changes.
• Troubleshoot MES‑related issues and provide ongoing operational support.
• Collaborate with operations to improve process efficiency and system performance.
• Develop and maintain recipe authoring standards and documentation.
• Deliver user training and promote MES best practices across teams.
• Participate in an on‑call support rota as required.

• 3–5+ years’ experience in an MES Engineering role within pharmaceutical, biologics, or cell and gene therapy manufacturing.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Emerson Syncade MES, including recipe authoring and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of GMP manufacturing processes and MES lifecycle activities.
• Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, data integrity principles, and cGMP requirements.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous experience delivering technical training is advantageous.
• 12‑Month Contract opportunity supporting critical manufacturing and digital initiatives.
• Potential option to extend.
• Competitive day rate, dependent on experience.
