DescriptionThe Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Western New England University seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position for the academic year, with potential for longer-term renewal or transition to a tenure-track position.
Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in
1) Transportation Engineering,
2) Architectural Engineering, or
3) a closely related field. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in Civil Engineering (4 courses per semester or 24 credits per year), provide service to the department and college, and advise students.
Western New England University has a vibrant undergraduate Civil and Environmental engineering program that emphasizes industrially relevant research and design, as well as an active Master of Science program. The CEE program prides itself on delivering high-quality engineering education while providing strong mentorship to students. The CEE department maintains strong relationships with regional and national industries and corporations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- College-level teaching experience (graduate TA experience acceptable) or professional experience in a relevant field
- Expertise in Transportation Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Effective teaching and pedagogy skills appropriate to the position
- Licensure as a professional engineer (P.E.) or commitment to obtaining licensure when eligible
