Overview
Controller (Manufacturing & Operations Accounting)
Salary:
Up to $130k Base DOE + Bonus Potential
- Highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the subsidiary CEO and parent company finance leadership
- Hands-on accounting environment with potential for immediate process improvement and operational efficiency
- Blend of financial reporting, operational accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing support responsibilities
- Company is actively modernizing systems and processes, including a transition from Quick Books Desktop to a more scalable ERP platform
- Collaborative, casual, and long-tenured culture with leadership focused on stability and long-term growth
- Ability to wear many hats and partner closely with operations, HR, and executive leadership
- Strong opportunity for someone coming out of public accounting or an Assistant Controller/Senior Accountant ready to step into a broader leadership role
- Flexible work environment after onboarding period, with hybrid flexibility available after 90 days
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
- Assist with monthly financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP in partnership with parent company leadership
- Oversee inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing margin analysis
- Partner with operations leadership to improve production reporting, cost tracking, pricing analysis, and operational efficiency metrics
- Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and departmental financial planning
- Lead process improvement initiatives and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assist with audits, tax support, and external reporting requirements
- Support ERP and accounting system optimization efforts as the company continues to scale and modernize
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and leadership on payroll, benefits, and operational initiatives
- Participate in physical inventory counts and support manufacturing operations as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- CPA highly preferred
- 6+ years of combined public and corporate accounting experience preferred
- Experience with in manufacturing, inventory-based, or production environments strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and full-cycle accounting
- Experience with cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance analysis
- ERP system experience required;
Quick Books and ERP implementation/transition experience highly preferred - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a hands-on environment and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
