Lending Manager Credit Union Lending Full-Time (Hybrid – Springfield, MA) The Opportunity
As the Lending Manager at Mass Mutual Federal Credit Union (MMFCU), you will be a valued member of a supportive, diverse, and skilled team committed to delivering a consistent and memorable experience to our members and prospective members.
This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day lending operations of the credit union, including leading the lending team and driving loan production growth through effective pipeline management, process optimization, and execution across consumer lending, home equity, and mortgage.
It also provides oversight of servicing, lending support functions, and process optimization, while serving as the operational lead for lending-related technology initiatives.
A key near-term priority is leading the lending operations workstream for the credit union’s core system conversion, including workflow design, data validation, testing, training, and post-conversion stabilization.
The TeamReporting to the Chief Lending Officer (CLO), the lending team is comprised of loan originators, loan processors, loan servicers, analysts, and collections. This role provides direct supervision of loan originators, processors, and servicers, while working closely with analysts and collections in a cross‑functional capacity. The team collaborates regularly with other business units across the organization.

- Lead and oversee the end‑to‑end execution of the credit union’s lending function across consumer, home equity, and mortgage products, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and service quality.
- Provide leadership and direction to originations, processing, servicing, and lending support teams to drive effective pipeline management and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable lending regulations and investor requirements (including NCUA, RESPA, and Fannie Mae), while maintaining strong internal controls and quality standards.
- Direct lending operations across the full lifecycle, including application workflow management, underwriting support coordination, loan funding, collateral and title tracking, servicing oversight, and exception management.
- Oversee mortgage servicing operations, including complex servicing activities, investor reporting, and direct relationship management with secondary market investors (e.g., Fannie Mae).
- Monitor and actively drive lending pipeline, cycle times, and service levels to increase loan production, improve pull‑through, and ensure timely processing, closing, and funding of loans.
- Identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies, and implement scalable process improvements across the lending lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, controls, and documentation to support consistency, compliance, and audit readiness, while driving continuous process improvement.
- Build and manage operational reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics to support transparency and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Serve as Lending Operations Lead for core system conversion and ongoing system optimization, including workflow design, data validation, UAT, training, and post‑conversion stabilization.
- Partner cross‑functionally with IT, Finance, Operations, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support system integration, operational readiness, and issue resolution, while serving as an escalation point and backup to the CLO.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of lending experience within a financial institution
- 2+ years of experience managing or overseeing a team
- Credit union experience strongly preferred
- Experience with lending systems (e.g., Meridian Link) and workflow optimization
- Core system conversion or major system implementation experience
- Strong understanding of lending regulations (RESPA, TILA, NCUA, and Fannie Mae servicing expectations)
