Position: Senior Care Options (SCO) Training Specialist

The Training Specialist develops, delivers, and evaluates training requirements that support the Geriatric Support Services Coordinator (GSSC) team and other staff working under Senior Care Options contracts. This role ensures that new and existing employees are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to meet regulatory requirements, maintain high-quality documentation, and provide person-centered services to older adults.

The Training Specialist collaborates closely with supervisors, SCO Program Director, SCO partners, and subject matter experts to maintain consistent, compliant, and effective training across the department.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver comprehensive onboarding programs for new GSSCs and related staff, including SCO-specific workflows, documentation standards, and LTSS care coordination requirements.
  • Offer ongoing support to new hires throughout their onboarding period, including shadowing opportunities, case reviews, and workflow reinforcement.
  • Maintain a caseload or list of new members and reassessments to support hands on training for newly hired GSSCs.
  • Develop and maintain step by step guides, job aids, troubleshooting resources, e learning modules, presentations, manuals, and workflow documentation.
  • Adapt training content to accommodate different learning styles, experience levels, and staff needs.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for staff seeking guidance on documentation standards, systems navigation, and SCO processes.
  • Provide coaching to staff on communication, time management, and best practices in care coordination.
  • Deliver targeted training or coaching based on audit findings, performance metrics, or new contractual updates.
  • Participate in job and career fairs as requested.
