SSTAR’s clinical team provides comprehensive outpatient behavioralhealth services in a safe and welcoming environment! The clinicianprovides individual, group, and family counseling to people affected by addiction and or/mental illness. The licensed clinician may alsohave opportunities to provide clinical supervision to other team members.

- Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certificatenecessary for the performance of the position.
- Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations.
- Maintain assigned caseload;
Providing direct care to clients
-including assessments of the new patients, individual counseling,discharge planning, treatment plans, daily progress notes, dailygroups, group note completion and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments. - Responsible for each assigned clients’ medical records.
- Provide direct care to the clients. This care will include, butnot limited to, individual counseling, group facilitation, lectures,orientation for new patients, discharge & aftercare planning,and case management of clients assigned.
- Responsible for linking clients with aftercare services prior todischarge and aiding the client and with access to outpatientservices when appropriate.
- Attend all unit meetings and case conferences as directed by the Executive Director.
- Responsible for continued education in the field of substance abuse and related courses.
- Communicate with referring agencies and other entities on behalfof the client.
- Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of clients asdefined by the client’s rights.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director.
Clinician Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, or a related discipline.
- LICSW, LMHC, LADC
1. - Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- An understanding of the relationship between substance abuse andmental health issues and/or self-help programs
- Diagnostic skills and case management ability
- Promote and enhance one’s knowledge about the symptoms ofpsychiatric illness and addiction
- Ability to facilitate a group/lecture
- Ability to set limits and enforce rules
- An understanding of boundaries and ethics
