- South Central is seeking an individual who is personally and professionally committed to the protection of children. The CAC medical assistant is much more than administrative support. The CAC medical assistant works alongside the medical providers and helps ensure the examination and evaluation of children and teens who may have been abused is safe, comfortable, and empowering and the administrative functions of care coordination are maintained.
This role interfaces with children, their non-offending caregivers, and the investigative partners. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal communication skills, is comfortable working with children, and values accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to create a safe atmosphere in a crisis situation through reassurance and support to the child and family through the exam process
- Process labs and obtain diagnostic results with accuracy
- Assist with forensic evidence collection
- Accurately maintain documentation of medical records and data collection
- Maintain the exam room and inventory of supplies
- The position will require some evenings, nights, and occasional weekends on call
The selected candidate will join a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to the Child Advocacy Center’s child-first, multidisciplinary, inclusive approach to investigating and preventing child abuse. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the CAC’s mission of providing a voice and nurturing hope for abused children and their supportive caregivers and recognize the role they play in helping the child begin their healing journey.
RequirementsOther types of education and/or experience that will be considered are:
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
- Medical assistant with 5 years of work experience and seeking certification as an MA
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program with MO licensure and in good standing.
- Ability and agreement to obtain MA certification within first 90 days of
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
- Previous health care experience required.
- Previous pediatric experience is highly preferred.
- Completion of criminal background check and screening with Family Safe Care Registry and Missouri Automated Criminal History System.
