Job Title
Life Skills Support Professional 1 (Human Services) – Full‑time Day
Location & CompensationSpringfield, MA
Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour
Hours per week: 35
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Work directly with adults with disabilities and developmental delays to develop social and communication skills, support activities of daily living, and build self‑esteem. Organize, coordinate, implement, and structure activity units to provide meaningful opportunities for program members. Assist with personal care and facilitate participation in community activities. Provide support and training to members in accordance with Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals and objectives.
Responsibilities- Assist with personal care and daily living activities for participants.
- Organize and lead structured activity units for social and communication development.
- Support participant participation in community and agency activities.
- Provide training and support aligned with ISP goals and objectives.
- Transport participants as needed within the region.
- High School diploma or Hi‑SET required.
- At least one year of human services experience, or an associate’s degree in a related field with 0–1 year of experience.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with at least three years of driving experience and a good driving record.
- Willingness and ability to transport participants in a personal or agency vehicle.
- Physical ability to lift and transfer members up to 150 pounds.
- Valid MA driver’s license and ability to travel within the region.
- Physical strength to lift and transfer participants up to 150 pounds.
