Position: Patient Care Technician, Full Time and Part Time Days

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for a Full Time and Part Time
Patient Care Technician to join our Pre-Anesthesia Services team in Springfield, MA.

Schedule
  • Full-time and Part Time opportunities, 24-36 hours a week
  • 9am-9pm
  • Rotating Holidays, 2-3 holidays per year
Responsibilities

Baystate Health, Patient Care Technicians (PCT) play a hands-on role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care alongside our nursing team. Under the supervision of an RN, you ll assist with direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.

PCTs perform a range of clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Point of Care testing. This role also includes assisting with procedures, patient transport, equipment management, and supporting emergency response protocols.

This position also includes restocking the department and transporting patients.

Strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient safety are essential.

Qualifications

This position is part of a career ladder and hiring level determined by Recruitment.

  • Level I:

- PCT training or CNA training, preferred

BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required

  • Level II:

- High School diploma or GED

- at least one year of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.)

– BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required

  • Level III:

- High School diploma or GED

- Three or more years of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.) or at least one year as a level II PCT at Baystate Health

– BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required

  • Level IV:

- High School Diploma or GED

- 4 or more years of Acute or specialty-specific care setting experience OR at least one year as a level III PCT at Baystate Health

– BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required

The base pay range shown above considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This base pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.

Compensation

The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.

Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

$17.01 – $21.57 – $28.08
