The Behavior Services Coordinator I is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of behavior support plans, providing direct support and training to staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the behavioral needs of students served. The role involves supervision of Behavior Specialists and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality behavioral services.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans, ensuring they align with best practices in behavior analysis and trauma-informed care.
- Participate in behavioral assessments, provide input on student intake evaluations, and help determine the most effective interventions for students.
- Ensure accurate data collection, entry, and analysis to assess the effectiveness of behavioral interventions and inform decision-making.
- Conduct in-service training sessions to enhance staff knowledge of behavioral interventions, applied behavior analysis, and crisis prevention techniques.
- Work closely with other departments to create a cohesive behavioral support system that meets the needs of students and staff.
- Facilitate and participate in meetings such as IEPs and clinical team discussions, ensuring the proper assignment of Behavior Specialists to cases.
- Regularly assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on best practices and feedback from stakeholders.
- Assist in the hiring and onboarding of Behavior Specialists and ensure ongoing staff development through training, supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Assist Behavior Specialists in planning, scheduling and conducting appropriate behavioral in-services and monthly meetings for residential staff, educational staff, and other pertinent team members.
- Maintain on-going, proactive assessment of the implementation of behavioral policies, procedures and protocols with particular emphasis on health and safety and assist with formulating corrective actions for any identified deficiencies.
- Provide behavioral support outside standard hours as part of the on-call rotation, addressing urgent needs as they arise.
- Foster strong relationships with families, agencies, and community partners to enhance program effectiveness and provide support resources.
- Functions as an ambassador and liaison for Crystal Springs.
- Contributes to organization success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team results.
