Daly 6B Medical Intermediate Care Unit
Daly 6B is a Medical Intermediate Care Unit that is half medical-tele and half medical step-down. Unit Size/Beds: 42 beds – 21 medical & 21 Intermediate care. Expected Ratios:
Intermediate care – 1:3, Medical - 1:6. Cases seen: PNA, COPD exacerbation, DKA, HHS, ETOH withdrawal, GIB, Sepsis, PE, UTI, Respiratory failure. Years of Exp preferred: 1-2 years. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS. Floating to other units can happen at times, RN's work on both sides of the floor (med-tele & IMC), must have experience with trachs, vents, high-flow NC, Cardiac drips, BiPaP, & telemetry.
Shift: 12 hours Nights 7-7:30a
