** Job Description*
* ** Job Summary
** Under the leadership of the Outpatient Department Manager and the indirect supervision of Physicians/APPs, the Medical Assistant assists with the delivery of patient care in the clinic by maintaining clinic flow, obtains routine clinical information on patients/family, provides physical care of the patients, procures and maintains par levels of clinic supplies, and provides light clerical assistance.

* Key Responsibilities:

*** Transcribing of delegated orders into the EMR
* Casting/splint application, maintenance guidance and removal
* Obtaining specimens, including performing venipuncture
*
* Required Qualifications:

*** Basic Life Support (BLS)
* Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
* Ability to sit for certification exam from nationally recognized organization (i.e. American Association for Medical Assistants
*
* Preferred Qualifications:

*** One to two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
* Associate's degree
* Two years' pediatric care experience
* National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology
* Certified Phlebotomy Technician Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
